A brief guide to Rochester’s Blue Cross Arena

Sports enthusiasts will definitely be keen to visit the Blue Cross Arena, which is a multipurpose sports venue. Here is a brief overview of the Blue Cross Arena. 

Events at the venue: When in town if you plan a visit to the arena, check their website to find out the upcoming events when you are in Rochester, at their website’s Events section. Visitors can also browse and get seating information as well as tickets from their toll-free number. One way of ensuring you are in the know about the latest events and happenings at the venue is to sign up for their email subscription list. 

Items allowed: With guests’ safety the primary objective, the management does not allow backpacks of any kind to be carried into the arena. Personal bags are however allowed to be taken into the venue. They undergo an inspection at the entrance while being soft-sided and fit comfortably beneath the seat, without causing any obstruction in the aisle. Items that are not permitted include briefcases, backpacks and duffel bags. 

Carrying cameras: During ice hockey games any kind of flash photography is strictly prohibited. Guests are allowed to use cameras as long as they do not in any obstruct the views of others seated at the venue. Similarly, they cannot block any kind of access ways or aisles. Selfie-sticks and tripods are restricted. 

Those wanting to click photos have to do it from their seats and cannot walk up to the glass enclosure. When youth hockey games are played video cameras are permitted. Only those that are bona fide media personnel can use the media section and approved sections like glass cutouts and platforms. Further information about camera policies can be gleaned from the administrative office. 

Camera policies for events and concerts: Since the policies differ from one event to another confirmation needs to be sought prior to an event. Audio and video recording is not allowed. When cameras are allowed generally they are restricted to 35 mm and are either digital cameras or disposable ones. All type of cameras using detachable or large lenses is prohibited. 

Box Office: For tickets, there are nine ticket windows located in the lobby near the entrance of the arena. These are open for business Monday – Fridays 11:00 – 15:00 hours.  When there is an event the box office opens from 11:00 am to the intermission’s end.
